SAINT JOHN, NEW BRUNSWICK (May 12, 2020) — The Greater Saint John Chinese Cultural Association is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Jiaojiao Meng as the association’s President. Ms. Meng will be succeeding Mr. XU, Lei (David) in her new role.
A proud Chinese and Saint Johner, Ms. Jiaojiao Meng is a graduate of UNB Saint John’s Master of Business Administration program. Following her graduation in 2017, she has been employed with the YMCA Newcomer Connections as the Youth Employability Project Coordinator and works collaboratively with the Greater Saint John Community and the New Brunswick Multicultural Council Skills Launch Project to advance adult youth in employment and skills training opportunities. A community champion of connecting cultural diversity, Ms. Meng is a committed volunteer with community organizations, and is a founding member of Stay and Grow; a network that facilitates meaningful connections with new residents in Saint John.
The Greater Saint John Chinese Cultural Association is a non-profit organization founded on July 20th,1984, which has no affiliation with any religious or political party. The association has served around 1500-2000 people in the Chinese community on a daily basis regarding their settlement, community, education needs. It has contributed to increasing our population growth in the Greater Saint John area in the past 37 years. The objectives are:
1. to conduct classes teaching Chinese language and culture.
2. to permeate Chinese Culture and promote multiculturalism.
3. to promote understanding and goodwill between Chinese Canadians and other ethnic
